The Royal Castle of Casotto , located in the municipality of Garessio ( CN ) on the slopes of Bric Mindino at an altitude of 1,090 m, was born in the 11th century as a charterhouse dedicated to San Brunone . [1] Over the centuries it suffered several looting and fires that changed its structure, the current layout of which was built between the 16th and 17th centuries. The gray stone facade was built in the mid-18th century, based on a project by the architect Bernardo Antonio Vittone .
The Santuario di Vicoforte , also known as the sanctuary of the Madonna , the basilica sanctuary of the Nativity of the Holy Mary or the Regina Montis Regalis sanctuary-basilica is a religious building located in the territory of the municipality of Vicoforte , in the province of Cuneo . It is a monumental church , one of the most important in Piedmont , whose dome with an elliptical horizontal section is the largest of this shape in the world. It has the dignity of a minor basilica [1] .
