Grundtvigs Kirke

Grundtvig's Church (or Grundtvigskirken ) at Bispebjerg in Copenhagen was built in memory of the priest, the poet and public educator NFS Grundtvig .
First through two idea competitions in 1912 and 1913 the builder Peder Vilhelm Jensen Klint originated the idea of a church in commemoration of Grundtvig.
The monumental design at the top of Bispebjerg is inspired by Gothic and European cathedrals . At the same time the church also  reflects the medieval , Sealand village . In the proportions had to be found allusions to Plato's metaphysics , so that the "right target" reflects the divine and true.
Almost everything in the church is based on bricks , approximately 5 million of them, but they are many places cut into a specific shape and hand-polished to produce a silky sheen
